Fedora Alsa Driver Modprobe

Hi, I'm a Slackware user trying to get Fedora to work on my old computer... I can't seem to install the alsa drivers correctly.. I've ./configured and make and make install.. but i cant get the modprobe to work.. It said it wasnt a command recognized.. I also tried insmod.. This is a sound blaster Live with digital speakers. Can someone tell me the exact command and option to use? Thanks!

i may be wrong, but i think it's /sbin/modprobe ... at least, thats what it is on my mandrake system
are you running it as root?

try running this:

Code:
[scuzzy@localhost scuzzy]$ su
Password:
[root@localhost scuzzy]# updatedb;locate modprobe
you're looking for an executable, probably in /bin /sbin or, for some wierd reason, /usr/bin

First to use insmod or modprobe you need to be root. Next, depending on how you log into root you may need to use the full path /sbin/modprobe for example. You should also add the module name like so:

/sbin/modprobe yourmodule (in this case snd-something)

But before you do that, have you run

alsaconf
