Fedora 8 on HDD2 booting using F12
Hi Folks,
this is my first post, so please excuse any hiccups in the protocol. I have recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop which has two 160GB hard drives and 2GB of RAM. I have partitioned the second HDD to have:
. 90GB NTFS partition
. 196MB /Boot ext3 partition
. 60GB LVM which consists of
- 1984MB swap
- 58176MB / ext3
Actually I am left with the Linux partitions after an unsuccesful attempt to install Fedora 7 when I chose not to install the GRUB boot loader.
My aim is to install Fedora 8 on this second drive only, and without any dual boot option. I only want to be able to boot to Fedora by using my F12 function key at startup and choosing the second HDD. Basically I dont want the Fedora 8 installation messin with my first HDD as although I have backed it up and there is a recovery partition, I don't have the Vista media should the worst happen and going by my other attempts it usually does. So my question is, to boot Linux only by using my F12 key,
(1) do I have to install GRUB,
(2) and if so to where?
