It sounds like you are having some kind of driver problem, or possibly even a hardware fault. Of course, that's a complete guess since we don't have enough information to diagnose your problem yet.
When it "hangs", what exactly happens? Does the screen go blank, do the keyboard LEDs stop working and does the computer make any unusual noises? If you press Ctrl+Alt+F1 do you get to a terminal, and if you press Ctrl+Alt+Del does the machine reboot (this often takes a few minutes)? When you say it "hangs like Windows" does this mean that you used to run Windows on the machine and it hanged a lot? If so then that suggests a hardware problem is more likely to be the cause. How are you recoving from this? Does the machine need a full reboot? After rebooting, take a look in the file /var/log/messages. This may give some indication of exactly what has failed. Look for a line saying something like "[date, machinename etc.] syslogd 1.4.1: restart"; this is put out when the machine starts up. It may be worth posting the text of 30 or so lines above this one. Hope that helps you to get some information, —Robert J Lee |
Please tone down the colour and font size in your signature - it is quite jarring...
[edit]Thanks :)[/edit] Then, everything rjlee said. |

If you managed to install it, then the i386 kernel should work just fine.
So, to re-iterate some of rjlee's questions, and a few of my own:
|
1) i checked the keyboard light not respond me... i used num lock i didnt respond me
2)i see only the desktop which i used last nothing stranged i seen 3)my mouse cursor didnt worked... i tried many times 4)there is no specific time minumun:1 min.. maximum 15 min 5)when i connect net i getting hang soon..... but without that also i hanged 6)no when i was idle i locked... i reebot the machine many times.... to get this log i installed the os before 1 day and continously i was trying to work on it the log which i send is 10 % last log which i send it last few lines of the message i was unable to send all the log here... so |

two fedora systems hang, similar symptoms
I'll include any requested info. Just informing that two fedora_8 units on our network have internal report tickets (to our support team of a private company) of system hangs. They are test units. Priority is currently set to low.
