Something tells me your download didn't work all too well!
Did you run an MD5 checksum to verify the image before burning it to DVD? http://www.linuxiso.org/viewdoc.php/verifyiso.html Something certainly got muddled up on your download, just alone the file size suggests that... |
so i decided to download the dvd .torrent file and it is downloading the file which is 4.1 gigs and it comes with a md5 file so if i burn this version is there a good chance it will work thanks

Just make sure you check that the MD5 sum of your download is correct before you burn another coaster.
Any probs, just post again! |
LWP-DOWNLOAD
Hiya,
I have had same problem and I discovered that Internet explorer doesn't support more than 2Gig files download and same with mozilla. I tried several other tools like wget ncftp, none of them helped. However, there is another tool which redhat( or fedora) linux gives lwp-download , which is specially for fetching largefiles from internet. I used that and it worked very well. Here is link for more information : http://www.perldoc.com/perl5.8.4/bin/lwp-download.html Usage : ~ lwp-download [-a] <url> [<local file>] $ lwp-download http://www.perl.com/CPAN/src/latest.tar.gz Saving to 'latest.tar.gz'... 1.47 MB received in 22 seconds (68.7 KB/sec) ~ Try it !
