fedora 16 gnome 3 kindleforpc

I just upgraded my wifes fedora 14 to fedora 16
at boot gnome said system did not meet its requirements and was falling back to whatever
strange since system is only 3 years old

anyway - now kindlefor pc will not run

i interrupt grub and see that v 14 is no longer there

any suggestions?

i believe it is possible to use a different interface than gnome - might that help - if so, how do i switch?

I assume it means the Gnome window manager isn't supported for your display adapter or it needs to be addressed to correct driver or such for video.

So are you using kindle app on wine?

Did copy over F14?

Almost every distro allows you to either select at install or select after install a new window manager. Consider Fedora kde or other if you like fedora.

and if you are using kindle ( linux) ported to Microsoft in wine ( ms emulator on linux)
Then ? Why ??

there is a good ebook reader in the fedora repos

as to the fedora 16 problem?
without the needed information
there is NO WAY to even make a suggestion

add ram ? i have NO IDEA how much you have - fedora 16 gnome3 needs a min of 720 Meg ( 1 gig)

desktop or laptop???
again i have NO INFORMATION !!!!

-- and so on through the 20 questions .....

jefro and john
yes we run kindle for pc on our system and have a kindle. we subscribe to the ny times from amazon - can read it either at the computer or when I'm sitting in the car waiting for my wife. ditto books i buy from amazon - it remembers where you are and you pick upwhere you left off on the other device.
so i consider it much more than an ebook reader.
i understand i can switch to kde - just dont know how to do so.- thot someone might tell me how
the install apparently copied over v14 since it does not appear on grub

i probably can get it running by looking at why it abends andt then reserching the wine site - ust thought before i did so maybe i'd try to switch to kde -but dont know how.
it is a desktop - i gb memory

Use software manager usually. It is a large change and if this is a new install might just get the kde fedora iso.
