Fedora 11 freezes on start-up & mouse and keyboard don't work!

hey guys, so i'm new to linux and was having problems getting fedora 11 to work. recently i tried to install for the first time and everything booted up fine but when i got to the post install configuration my mouse and keyboard don't work! after that one time whenever i try to load linux it just sits at the boot screen where the colored bar goes left to right and has fedora text in the bottom right corner. i don't know if this matters or not but i'm dual booting with windows XP also i tried using a live cd of fedora 11 it always boots up to the login however just like above i can't use my mouse or keyboard for that one either. please help!! this is driving me nutz!! haha

So, did you ever seen any graphics or has it always booted up abnormally?

Have you tried pressing Ctrl+Alt+F2 and logging in text mode as root to see what's up? I ask because the system probably isn't actually locked up but is having a video problem.

okay so i think the issue is my CD. when installing fedora 11 again i used the advanced menu and got an error when choosing which HDD to load the boot loader from. also i hit f1 during that bar thing on startup i was talking about to see where it fails at and it gives me the screen with all the ok's.it fails at a bunch of different areas each time. the first it stopped at starting network manager, the second was at stopping on starting ssh. and the last few times it's been stopping on generating ssh1 RSA host key. so i think it's probably my disc. i'm gonna try burning another one. also just to be sure am i using the right mirror? this is the one i burned for my 32 bit intel pentium D.
