Fedora 11 and a bad set of drives

I recently downloadd Fedora 11 to use as a storage server here are the specs

PIV 1.8Gh Socket 478
1024 MG Memmory
X2 120 GB ATA HD (one Seagate one WD)
X2 40 GB ATA HD (one Seagate one WD)
X1 Quantium Fireball 20GB HD

I know it is a odd mix of drives but its all I could get my hands on
the 120 and he 40 GB are on a promise ata-100 PCI card.

The problems is I have had to remove certain drives due to bad sectors on of them was a 120 and another was a 40 both on different chains on the promise card. when I run Seatools on them the 120 says it has bad sectors but the 40 GB doesn't, however when I install Fedora 11 on them it says there are bad sectors. Is there a way to save these drives from the trash bin. I am not ready to spend mobney on new drives just yet.

As far as I'm aware if a hard drive has sectors then there's nothing you can do about it except throw the drive away before it totally fails.

But why does Seatols say the 40gb is ok but Fedora say it is Bad?
