Fear of resizing ext2 partition

I have mandrake 9.1 located after 2 windows partitions.

and before swap and file storage drive.

i.e.

Win98|XP|Mandrake 9.1|swap|storage drive

I understand the EXT2/linux partition does not like to be moved.

Resizing the mandrake drive and moving the swap file right next to the drive won't affect my system in anyway?

Thanks in advanced

Neil

Thats correct. But you should make a backup anytime you do something like this.

Basically to resize a partition you first delete it then make a new one that starts in the exact same spot.

Thanks..

Resizing the partition. Should I do it via mandrake or partition magic?

Or does it really not matter? I'm more comfortable with partition magic.

Does mandrake need to manage this? or will partition magic confuse mandrake?

I've used diskdrake and fdisk to resize partitions and both worked fine... except that diskdrake always gives my qnx4 partitions an id of 0?

Thanks for the info.

Good day to you.

just did a resize with partition magic 8, worked great.

I had no problems doing a similar operation with part magic 8... just make sure it leaves the correct partition active...

Thats handy to know. thank you both.

Was going to go over to linux this evening to use diskdrake.

But will save me the trouble, using partition magic.

Thanks again
