Question fdisk problem

I have a 120GB secondary hard drive onto which I was trying to install Slack 11.0. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Linux, but I have a general idea as to how to partition a disk. My problem is that fdisk seems to think that my hard drive is less than 4GB in size (3912MB to be precise). I have no idea why this is. Help, anyone?

What is the 2nd drive--IDE, SATA, USB,,,etc?
What does the bios think it is? Re-boot the computer and hit the magic key that make it go into setup mode.
Also, post your hardware configuration--cpu, mb, ram, etc.

several bootable CDs that are nice to have around:

Ultimate boot CD--many different tools
Gparted--the Gnome partition editor + a mini linux
Knoppix live CD--includes qtparted
