FC5 system-config-network
hey,
i am on FC5. i set up the drivers for my wireless card with ndiswrapper. I am now trying to connect to my wireless network but i am getting this message: Error for wireless request "Set Frequency" (8B04): SET failed on device wlan0; Invalid argument. Determining IP information for wlan0...dhclient (1647) is already running - exiting. exiting. failed. please let me know what i am doing wrong. thanks |
this is cause you'll need to update wireless tools
Quote:
Code:
ndiswrapper -l Code:
ndiswrapper -m what shows dmesg|tail |
heres what the outputs were:
[root@localhost eric]# /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper -l Installed drivers: bcmw15 invalid driver! bcmw15 driver installed, hardware present [root@localhost eric]# /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper -m Adding "alias wlan0 ndiswrapper" to /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper |
use another driver inf file.
update wireless tools thats it. |
alright, well i couldnt get the bcmw15 invalid driver! off so i completely reinstalled FC5. I did so with KDE instead of gnome this time. i got the bcmwl5 driver working but when i go to the Network Configuration and try to add a new device. it askes which wireless card i want to use and all that is there is "Other Wireless Card"
