FC5 kernel source rpm
Hi,
while doing ./configure i got this error- kernel source should be installed in /lib/modules/2.6.15-1.2054_FC5/build uname -rm gives me 2.6.15-1.2054_FC5 i686 Wanted to verify the source before installing it. Should i be doing rpm -ivh kernel-2.6.15-1.2054_FC5.src.rpm ? I got kernel-2.6.15-1.2054_FC5.src.rpm from http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu.../source/SRPMS/ Previously, i have had lotta trouble installing the source and getting things working. Response appreciated. Thanks |
You need the kernel-devel-2.6.15-1.2054_FC5.rpm file not the .src.rpm
If using the orginal install kernel then the file you need is on the install cds. If you have upgraded then you should get it from the place you got the current kernel rpm. Brian |
I found two files from the install cds -
kernel-xen0-devel-2.6.15-1.2054-FC5.i686.rpm kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.15-1.2054-FC5.i686.rpm Couldnt find any other files in the Cds BTW, what does kernel devel does and which one to use? |
Why are you still using Fedora Core 5 when Fedora 8 is out?

I want to use 2.6.15 kernels. That the reason i'm sticking with FC5.
I'm getting this error- kernel source should be installed in /lib/modules/2.6.15-1.2054_FC5/build Have been struggling to get off with this for quite sometime. |
Brian,
That worked for me. Thanks! |
Your welcome.
