FC5 Boot GDM

Ok I know this is probably basic, but I am a total linux newbie.

I have found threads on other versions but have not been able to find what I am looking for.

I simply want FC5 to boot to GDM so I dont have to login and start it manually all the time. How do I do this.

Thanks,

John

Do you mean that you are booting to the command line and having to init 5, or do you want to log in to gnome automatically without entering a username/password?

GDM is gnome right?

I am booting to command line logging in with u / p then typing gdm

I want it to come to a graphical logon screen that still requires a password.

Thanks

John

Does typing init 5 from the command line do what you want (ie get you to GDM)?

If so, have a look in

/etc/inittab

and there should be a line like

id:3:initdefault:

Change the 3 to a 5, and you should be fine.

That did it,

Thank You
