I have a wireless networking card that requires a kernel with a 16K stack. In FC3 I use a patched kernel from linuxant.com, I was just wondering does anyone know if it would be possible to use this kernel in FC4?
It's likely that your FC3 kernel will work for most things with FC4: however, you will lose out on regular (security) updates, so it's something to think twice about.
Originally posted by paddyjoy Thanks for the info, will a standard kernel from kernel.org work ok with FC3 and FC4 or have the fedora kernels been modified in some way?
Paddy
A standard kernel from kernel.org will work, but you obviously won't benefit from the patches that Fedora incorporates into its kernel.
