FC3: Command to install sharutils?

I need to install sharutils, which I am presuming came with the FC3 cds. Could someone point out the command to install new packages from the CD??

While not part of the default installation, I normally use the 'apt' package for all my package management. You can download it at http://ayo.freshrpms.net. After installing the rpm, run the following command (as root):

Quote:
apt-get update
apt-get install sharutils
Also, you can do an entire system update by running (as root once again):

Code:
apt-get upgrade
At least this is how I (and many others) do it

I take it you're also telling me that the program sharutils won't be found on the original Fedora 3 CDs, and nor is apt. Mainly because I'm new to Fedora, I have trouble finding the simple programs and syntax that are commonsense to anyone who has used linux for a while.

Thanks jsbutton, that helped a lot.

It's been a deadly circle for me, I wanted wireless internet, to get wireless I had to install the madwifi driver, that needed sharutils, which needed apt, which needed an internet connection, which was supposed to be wireless. Anyway, having recompiled the kernel to get the LAN working (after several attempts), it's connected, followed your instructions, got apt, got sharutils, got the driver working, got wireless, and now can get rid of the LAN and am happy Thank you!
