Question fc2 home server set up


Please can you help configure? i have added a server to my home network to share files keep emails centralised and docs etc.. fc2 is up and running. i have added users and groups through samba. as i have window xp pcs on lan.
but i have not been able to access files from window xp pc. could anyone explain process needed to make server share info on hd with users on the lan? i have been able to access files from server on pc on lan. but had to input username?
