FC11-64 install from DVD...getting "JBD: barrier-based sync failed"
I'm trying to install FC11-64 from a DVD.iso burned a few days ago.
This is on a HP xw64 w/ 4Gb RAM and 3-drives. An IDE-250GB w/ Win7 partitioned w/ Win7 on c: and a 32Gb FAT32 area.; a 74GB SATA drive, with WinXP bootable, and another 74Gb SATA drive that got it's partitioning scrambled in a previous attempt.
The Fc11 installation appears to be working...sort of. Running in command-line mode, (Init3) I think it's alive on the previously scrambled 74Gb SATA drive.
There are, however, several issues:
1) I keep getting the error message : JBD: barrier-based sync failed on dm-0:8 - disabling barriers" adn this is, apparently serious. What the heck is this?
2) it doesn't see any of the other drives.
3) no video driver. (no /etc/X11/xorg.conf)
4) machine no longer sees Win7, and only boots to this command-line Linux.
I would like to run this as a dual boot machine, between Win7-64 and FC11-64, with partitions that both OSs can access.
I have heard that the Windoze partitioning utilities are less than wonderful...adn GRUB appears to run. How do I use it, or some other utility to get this thing partitioned properly? The automatic installer failed to find the enough free space to load Linux, across >200Gb of drives!
Any help would be appreciated.
