fc10, FTP server issues

Hi,
I am using fedora core 10. I need to configure an FTP server on a Laptop. And I got stuck in a problem at the very beginning of configuration :

I could not see gFTP icon in applications>internet. I tried installing the FTP package, but the dialog box appears ,saying " the application is already installed" I tried opening the FTP from usr>bin>FTP, but it did'nt open. Can you guide me as how to open the FTP server application, and the location where it is installed.

It would help me in taking my next step towards configuration.
Thanks.

ftp and gftp are ftp clients...not ftp servers
for a ftp server you need vsftpd or wu-ftpd or proftpd
Start with vsftpd because it's simple to configure
try..
yum install vsftpd

then edit the config file /etc/vsftpd.conf (on my debian sistem)
enable local users support local_enable=YES (if you need it...)
restart or reload the service
make sure iptables allow incoming connections to your machine on port 21

have fun
