faillure when istalling rpcbind under ubuntu


hi everybody,

i developped a rpc client and server programme under ubuntu linux,
i would like to excute the code but our teacher tell us to install rpcbind and when i try to use : apt-get install rpcbing/* that's give me an error " E:couldn't find package rpcbind "

i need your help to resolve this probleme."Cannot register service: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection refused
unable to register"

1) What is the purpose of /* in the command "apt-get install rpcbing/* "? (Is "rpcbing" a typo for this post?)

2) Have you tried to install rpcbind via synaptic?
