failed to mount /misc/.directory crash

Hello. Here's my problem: My system crashes at random times without any warnings and without me being able to do anything else afterwards. Neither the keyboard nor the mouse work. the only way in which i can restart the system is by pressing the restart button in the case. After looking at /var/log/messages the only lines i find before the crash are the lines :
Nov 21 07:32:20 localhost automount[4250]: failed to mount /misc/.directory
Nov 21 07:32:20 localhost automount[4251]: >> /usr/sbin/showmount: can't get address for .directory
Nov 21 07:32:20 localhost automount[4251]: lookup(program): lookup for .directory failed
Nov 21 07:32:20 localhost automount[4251]: failed to mount /net/.directory
Nov 21 07:32:35 localhost su(pam_unix)[4225]: session closed for user root

i don't even know what those directories are or do. They don't show in fstab.
can anybody please help me.
