Failed to bring up NIC on boot

Hi all,

I am using Mandrake 9.1.
There are 2 NIC installed on this machine.

At the beginning, the 2 NIC can bring up the 2 NIC interface on boot. After the machine runs for a while, all the setting for the 2 NIC were lost . Then I reboot the machine, I found the machine now failed to bring up the 2 NIC interface .

But I can bring up the 2 NIC manually after boot.

When I checked the following:
modules.conf contains:
alias eth0 nvnet
alias eth1 8139too

When I check with the lsmod command, the nvnet and 8139too were found loaded.

Is there anyone have any idea why this happens?

Maybe the network card is going bad, have you tried another one?

Now I fix the problem by adding a line to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and ifcfg-eth1 as follows:

MII_NOT_SUPPORTED=1
