Failed internet upgrade from 11. 04 to 11. 10
Hi everyone,
I most recently tried an upgrade from Ubuntu 11. 04 to 11. 10 and it turns out to be a total mess. I left my laptop upgrading in a similar manner that i did when i moved from 10. 10 to 11. 04. Unfortunately, this time round my computer has a black screen upon starting it:( Any help on what i may do to revive it without loss of data, is much appreciated |
BTW, This is what appears with the black screen
" Ubuntu 11.10 . . . . . .* Starting anac(h)ronistic c[ok] *PulseAudio configured for per-user sessions [ok] *Stopping anac(h)ronistic cronlt/saned [ok] Starting preload: preload. *Checking battery state... ing system V initialisation compatibili[ok] *Starting System V runlevel compatibility [ok] *Starting CPU interrupts balancing daemon [ok] *Starting deferred execution scheduler [ok] *Starting regular background program processing daemon [ok] *Starting LightDM Display Manager [ok] *Starting ACPI daemon Ubuntu 11.10 [ok] *Starting configure network devic. . . *Stopping cold plug devices [Ok]tibility *Starting configure network device security [ok]*Starting configure network device security " And thats all! It doesn't go anywhere from that point |
