Talking F-ten

Hi!

Ok, party-on, F-10 has arrived...now, I want it, please.

I run Linux F8, now. As the only OS - "one OS per PC" is the motto...ans since Linux is the best...well... and besides, I dont believe in dual boots, way too messy - caused me to age ten times faster when I tried that long ago, with OS/2... ;-)

Questions:
1) Do I HAVE to upgrade to F10 or will my F8 still get the security updates...
2) I run ONLY F8 on my machine - and would like to upgrade instead of doing a clean install. What do I do? Is that doable?

Tnx!

Thor

F8 upgrades will stop in a month or so.

You can try it, sounds like upgrading is always potentially flaky - I always do a clean install.

Talking It worked!

Hi,

I tried an UPdate for F8 to F10, on a fully vannilla install, and that seems pretty risk-free...the installer needed some time to examine the installation on the system, but did'nt ask any extra info and simply did an update. The (user) settings remained intact...

Next is a system with some stuff not supplied on the DVD. That system had BlueFish and AVG on it, these may require a re-install...

Eh, that's for the next (few) days to ponder about...

Gtyz!

Warning!

A clean install is recommended - TNX bilmayday - I tried an upgrade and lost the desktopswitch applets, and the trash applet too...

I'll run a clean install...
