Extreme Newbie question
Hi guys,
I just successfully installed Slackware 9.1 alongside XP pro. Got all done and dont know what to do after that. I get to the LILO Bootloader and choose the linux distro that I isntalled... it goes through and does its thing...
I long on as 'root', then command line... I type 'X', it loads.. but then stops there. nothing else.. I know that gnome and kde are installed, however me and my 3 hour old linux experience does not know what to do. Sorry the most basic of newb questions... but I am lost.
Thanks..
Josh

Type
not just X. X is the X-server, but startx is a front end to it that loads (amongst other things) the window manager specified in either a global xinitrc or a local .xinitrc file.

Make sure to add a new user (not a good idea to run as root!) by typing the command "adduser"
