Extreme new to Lunux

Hello guys, I just recently bought an Acer Aspire One with Linux OS and this is my first Linux laptop... I bought this because it's affordable and I can use it while I'm in college.

Anyway... I wonder is there any good user guide, Linux 101, Linux for Dummies or any trick and tips for me? So I like to learn how to use Linux and customize my own stuff there such as take away those lame desktop with only (Work, Connect, Fun and Files). If so, please leave the link here and I am very curious to using Linux.

Thanks
-Alan

here's a couple to get you started:

http://www.linuxhq.com/guides/LUG/node2.html

you should also check out the Rute Users Tutorial:

You can see the LQ Wiki, the articles and tutorials section to start with.

What Linux distribution do you have on it?
...then it will be possible to provide better links.

Desktop? KDE or Gnome

RUTE is a good book that is relevant for almost all distros.

I saw the Acer Aspire One with Linux Lite running in a techno shop (Currys Digital in the UK) today, I thought it was really a great-looking small laptop, and the software seemed very easy to use. Other people were interested in it too and playing on it. I am an experienced Linux user (but not an expert), and this seemed like one of those computers where everything just works without really needing to know all the ins and outs of the OS. Although if you want to learn more about Linux, look up the links the others have given, I expect you will learn much from them. Although the main interface of Linux Lite, with its full screen start up menu, is quite different to most Linux distros, except for the Asus Eee Xandros Linux, which I think they copied some ideas from.

You may also want to look at sites for the Linpus Linux Lite that the laptop uses at:
