"Extras" descriptions?
Well, I've just recovered from staying up all night to find a driver for my modem, which after several reboots from Fedora to Windows and back, didn't work. Part of the experience, right?
Since not much of my hardware works yet, I thought I'd check out some of the 'extras' on the DVD, but can't find anything like a description of what the individual packages are, just the scores of .rpm filenames. Is there anywhere I can get a gander at what the different apps are, you know, with specs, screenshots, comparisons, etc? |
You can find descriptions, package names, and other info about the packages from individual rpms, for example:
rpm -qi -p /mnt/dvd/somefilename.rpm My quess is that yum probably gives you some more civilized ways to find out info, but as of yet I am not familiar with yum. And given package names, of course you can always Google. |
