External installation - USB HDD
 

I have a USB HDD (NSpire) and I'm trying to install ANY version of Linux. Any suggestions? I just tried SuSE 9.1 and all I'm getting is a prompt that says "GRUB _" and that's all.

Suggestions??

Bottom line - booting from an external hard drive is not trivial and probably not for beginners.
