Question External hd case for linux - suggestions please?

hello all
after a partition wangle i now want to keep my experiments with linux distros on an external hard drive. sadly neither suse 9.1 nor mandrake 10 likes my cheapo box (usb2 metal gear g3, with god knows what cut price io chip)

can anyone recommend a cheap replacement case? what works for you and won't upset the bank? and where did you get it?

many thanks
