ext2 to NTFS
 

Im not sure if their is a solution for this, but my comp is running out of space and i would like to uninstall mandrake linux off its 10gig ext2 partition, then convert the ext2 partition back into a NTFS partition so that i can use it for windows again. Well, After uninstalling mandrake i went into Parition magic to convert my drives but it doesnt seem to have an option to convert drives back from Ext2 to NTFS. Ive read on some threads saying that it might not be possible to convert ext2 back into ntfs. But i would really like my 10 gigs back :P and would like to know if their is any method to convert Ext2 -> NTFS.

you can't "convert" between the two, they are so utterly utterly different. you would just need to reformat, i.e. lose all existing data.

In partition magic delete the ext2 partition and then create a new one, formatting it to NTFS, this is the only way

If there is no data needed then boot in our Windows and delete the partition. Create a new one and format it. Forget what you need to run to fix the MBR to boot Windows then. Should be able to search the net for this simply fix.

Which Method Worked? I am asking because i am having same problem with my Back Track and Window8 i want my 100gig Back :banghead:

Reformat with which OS Boot Media, i mean should i format it with Windows DVD or my BackTrack DVD?

You can format it with your Windows partition manager in the running Windows OS, no need to do that from a Live-DVD. You can also delete the complete Backtrack partition in the Windows partition manager and extend your Windows partition into the free space, so that you don't have an extra partition with 100GB, but on partition over the whole disk.

Thanks, but that didn't solved my problem entirely because i am still having problem with GRUB

So what i did is reinstalled BT5 then booted into Windows and Downloaded some program called EasyBCD which rewrote MBR file for me replacing GRUB, so when i restart next time MBR will be booting me directly into Windows without any prompt.

And Then i applied the technique you said to resolve the EXT2 Problem.
