Red face Explorer windows close/minimize buttons disappeared in Genome?

Windows close and minimize buttons have disappeared in Genome. In other desktops like KDE and cfxe they are present BUT I am using Gnome.
My distro is Ubuntu ultimate 2.7 64bit.
Your help will be much appreciated.

Thanks. The problem solved by the following command:

sudo aptitude purge ubuntu-desktop && sudo aptitude clean && sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude install ubuntu-desktop && sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart
