Explain RPM packages
 
Is there a good tutorial somewhere that explains rpm packages. More specifically, what is the difference between

ncurses-devel-t.t-4-i486.rpm and ncurses-devel-5.5-42.x86_64.rpm.


The kind of questions I would like to have answered are:

What is i486 and i386?

What is x86?

What exactly is a development package?

Questions like that.
