Expand all subdirectories in list view
I've checked this & other sites. Nothing works. Installed Nautilus, Dolphin, Thunar -- & Manjaro, Mint. Tried typing multiple asterisks (I assumed in the search box).
Need this in a file manager -- the functional equivalent of Mac Finder's COMMAND-click-on-triangle. CL tree/ls don't allow accessing individual files & closing selected subdirectories. Any suggestions much appreciated !! |

I have just tried all I can think of, as I did before my OP, including checking the manual. I guess the next step is just to hang myself. It seems like a logical progression. But many thanks, sir, for your kind assistance. |
if you have gnome3 probably you would need this: https://askubuntu.com/questions/8613...er-preferences
(so first run gnom-tweak-tool, enable application menu, next start nautilus and use that manu (upper right corner) to set preferences: Allow folders to expand |

Maybe try installing/using 'tree' at the command line, you can send it through 'less' to see it in screen fulls.
Code:
tree / | less |
