Exit the X Server

How can I set my default run level so I boot to console and not start up X?
I know it's a dumb question

Take a look at /etc/inittab this is where your default run level is set. You want to set it to runlevel 3. You may well find that SuSe has a nice graphical tool for you to do this but I have no idea where you'd find it!

I haven't used SuSe before, but in Mandrake it's in the Mandrake Control Center, i'm sure SuSe has something like this should be in there somewhere....
