executing a cpu bound multithreaded process

Hello ,

I'm trying to run this executable named pi32 .

I downloaded it and get into the directory contains it

home/takzee/Downloads/ in this case

and I keyed in

Code:
./pi32
and this returns

Code:
Usage: ./pi32 <threads>
and then I tried to key in

Code:
./pi32 1
then the terminal will load a while then result in

Code:
14.09740510
Then I go to top to check the running process and it's not here , how do I run this and how do I know it ran?

Kind of hard, not knowing what pi32 is.

And after you get the number, do you also get a command prompt? If so, then it exited, so of course the process wouldn't be there.

How do I get a command prompt? If that means does the program ask me anything then it is a no , it just gives out the result 14.something to me then the terminal gets back to me .

Evidently it did run, and gave you the answer 14.xxxx.
If you want to see it running for some reason, open anther terminal and run top in there before you start the program.
As above, if you told us what this is supposed to do, that would help.
