Unhappy Evolution Reminders Aren't Working

I'm running ubuntu jaunty and the Evolution pop-up reminders don't work. In Startup/Applications/Preferences, Evolution Alarm Notifier is checked and in Evolution Preferences under Alarms Personal Calendar is checked.
Is there anything else that I should be doing to get the pop-ups to work?

Thanks, zoey

On the level, it's damn flaky at the best of times.

Check to see what evolution processes are running and make sure it really is up.

I also found Evolution to be flaky. I use Kontact now. I've been using Kontact for a couple of years with no problems. The reminders work fine. BTW, it is possible to run KDE applications under Gnome so you can use Kontact without changing window managers.

Sunbird & Kdocker

Thanks Guys. I agree that Evolution is flaky; sometimes editing a reminder will cause it to crash every time the calendar is opened after the edit.

I installed Sunbird and Kdocker and added Sunbird to Startup Applications with the command; kdocker -l sunbird and it starts on boot and minimizes to the panel. I was able to import the reminders from Evolution into Sunbird and it works!

Thanks again, zoey
