Unhappy evolution

My name is jim allAn. I have been online with linux for about a month. I am currently running win xp on my main system and Ubuntu 6.06 on the secondary through a lan card.
About a week ago evolution quit allowing me to send or receive mail. All options on that line are dimmed out and unavailable. How can I restore them, prefferably without losing my current mail?

You say Linux is on "secondary"---do you mean another computer??

Can you access web sites, etc.?

Do you remember what you were doing when things changed?
