Evo N800v Running Suse 10.2

Being a newbie to Linux, I have installed Suse 10.2 onto my old Compaq EVO N800v.P4 1.7ghz 1 gig Ram & Running ATI Mobility 7500 Radeon video adapter. The problem I have is with the screen resolution, it is badly distorted I have tried to install the ati driver but it appears to be for a 64 bit machine, unless they are the same driver. I have been all over ATI'S site trying to remedy this problem, so any help will be much appreciated.
