Eu version of wifi cards

Does anyone know if the EU version WIFI card's chipset really works better than the US version with Linux (UBUNTU)?

I would say the chipset is exactly the same,. the differences are going to be in what wireless channels are allowed in various countries. and I would think that would be controlled by the firmware or driver.
