Ethernet drivers are missing
 
I installed FEDORA 8 on my laptop for a class project. everything went find except. with I attempt to connect to any network. I keep getting the no network device error. so I tried to install the Ethernet and wi-fi driver directly without success. I don't what else to try

Why just Fedora 8 ? The newest release is Fedora 12. The compatibility and automatic drivers configuration is being upgraded from one release to another, so it's better to get the most upgraded which is Fedora 12 for today.
If you choose Fedora 8 because of a reason, let us now first what network card you are using - type
