Ethernet adapter compatibility with linux

Hello,
i m thinking to move on to Linux.. but need to make sure certain things first...
i have "CH9100 USB Miniport Ethernet Adapter"..
as my NIC card is damaged...
so its my only way to use internet !!
Will it be compatible with Linux???

Probably the best way to tell would be to boot Linux from a DVD or USB stick and see. Most of the modern distros have a no-install version that lets you kick the tires without touching your hard drive. There are also a few like Knoppix that are really aimed at being a DVD/USB only distro. Also check out UNetbootin, it is a good way to create a bootable USB stick with a Linux distro.
