/etc/securetty vc/0 vc/1 console
 

Could someone please explain the differences between tty1-7 and vc/0 and console.I am refering to /etc/securetty file.
Also how can you enable the console and vc/0 vc/1 in your etc/securetty ?
Do you just append them via an echo command to your file or?
Please let me know

tty 1 through 7 are the computer terminals which you can access directly, like on standalone computer whereas virtual console are like accessing the terminal via putty for an example.
