I have downloaded wine many times but i am unable to install it as i get a error every time i try to install it.i have been downloading it via official wine site
Not to be rude or anything, but exactly how do you expect anyone to know what the problem is with so little information? Which exact version did you download? What command or commands did you use to try to install it? Have you done any searches here or on google to see if anyone else has had the same problem? And most importantly, what is the error message you've been getting??
Please read "How to ask a question", at the link in my signature just below, and then give us some details to work with.

Anyway, have you instead tried installing wine using the package(s) provided by Mandriva? You are much more likely to succeed if you do.
Not only that, but just to be sure, which package did you try? The Mandriva download page shows half-a-dozen rpms for each version. Did you ensure that you got the one that matches your OS? You didn't perhaps download the source code package instead, did you?
This is why we need detailed information. Sometimes the mistake is in the simplest things, such as using the wrong package, and we need to be able to rule those out before moving on to more complex possibilities.
Did you try re-downloading the archive and trying again? It's possible that your download was corrupted the first time. Since your error message says it can't read the archive, this is a strong possibility.

You click on it?
I would install an rpm package with the following command.
