Error while booting

Dear all,

Please help. I am confronting with this error while booting the linux box
"No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/ssd_1/ssd1
followed by the following prompt; enter the root password
Give root password for maintenance
(or type Control-D to continue):"

After providing the password I tried with mount -o remount /dev/ssd_1/ssd1'

Still i am not able to boot the system.

ssd1 is a flash drive mounted and mounted entry is given at fstab. Earlier this was working without any issues.
Our OS is 5.5 OEL

Please help to troubleshoot this error.

Thanks
-Dave

Could you just tell me where is that drive was mounted and why you need that while booting?

generally the mount command is like this

mount -o remount,rw /path_to_mount_point

but you have given mount device name...!

While starting the linux box thes error is visible "No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/ssd_1/ssd1
followed by the following prompt; enter the root password
Give root password for maintenance
(or type Control-D to continue):"

"mount -o remount "i tried as a workaround

That means the device ssd1 is not getting detected by the kernel. It might have damaged or the name might have changed to something else other that ssd1.
