Exclamation error when using gem update command on EPHL 6


When i tried with 'gem update' command on RHEL 6,
i got this error
[root@INFINI-TWO ~]# gem update
Updating installed gems
ERROR: While executing gem ... (Net::HTTPServerException)
407 "Proxy Authentication Required"


i have set proxy as, http_proxy='http://usernameassword@proxyort'
so what should i do for solving this issue?
can anyone help me?

as much as i hate to say this, as you are using RHEL, contact redhat directly, this is what you are paying for.

sounds to me like you have permissions issues on the proxy.
