Question Error when trying to mount ext HDD with LVM2, error when activating it.....

Hello. I am fairly new to Linux, i am computer savvy, but definitely not a pro.

So, I have a Seagate 3TB HDD, that I have installed via SATA into my desktop computer. My desktop is maybe 5 yrs old, dual-core AMD CPU, 4 GB RAM, dual boot with Windows 7, and a yet to be determined Linux Distro.

I have been using KNOPPIX, from a live USB stick. Knoppix recognizes the HDD, but gives error when i try to mount it. I tried using a command i think it was
Code:
lvchange -ay
and I got an error as well.

I haven;t been able to go further with it. I can provide additional info if needed.

I appreciate the help.

It would help to know what the error message was.

You might also check to see how big the disk reports to the system with gparted. I have run across situation where a 3TB disk gets reported as 2TB... and if the disk was previously partitions, will not work without repartitioning (and losing 1TB).
