Question error when i modify code:NS3

hii
i am using ns3-3.11 on fedora 11..and i am facing some problems in the output when i make modifications for the open source mesh.cc ..plz help me out if u can !!
i am trying to get the trace file and when i give the command

"AsciiTraceHelper ascii;
pointToPoint.EnableAsciiAll (ascii.CreateFileStream("mesh.tr)); "
the console shows
" in member function int MeshTest::Run()
error: pointToPoint was not declared in this scope "

When i do the same for another example code first.cc the trace file is created perfectly.
What is the mistake i am doing?
