Post ERROR: not an identifier

Situation: I am trying to execute an sh file...

Example: sh

Response: JAVA_HOME=/usr/java1.2/: is not an identifier

This command use to work. It has mysteriously stopped working. The directory /usr/java1.2 is present.

Anyone have any idea what may be going wrong?
