Error Message on terminal
Often when I run an upgrade to install new software or copy-paste instructions on commands on the terminal, I am getting the following error message:
error processing crossplatformui What does this mean? I've been looking for codecs for video lan. |
Do you use a normal, original terminal featured with your distro by default or some diffrent interface?
|
gnome terminal.

I closed your other thread on this. It looked like a duplicate, but there you mentioned synaptic.
Regardless, please tell us what version of Linux you are using, and exactly what SW you are trying to install. Also, have you refreshed the package lists? |
Sorry about double-posting and more details
I'm very sorry I posted on two threads- I wasn't able to locate this thread (very silly, I know)....Won't do that again!
Anyway, the problem occurs both on the gnome terminal and on synaptic when I try to install a software package or install something like Java, or Aria. The error message I get in both cases is: E: crossplatformui: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2 I use the ubuntu for netbook remix version 2.6.31-20-generic #58-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 12 05:23:09 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux (got that off the terminal- hope it helps) |
