Exclamation Bad EIP value during shut down

I am using Red Hat 9 distribution. When I am shutting down my computer from Red Hat, it ends with the line "Bad EIP Value" and lots of octal numbers (or similar) is showing. 1) Why? 2) What is the problem? 3) How to get rid of the problem?
