Error installing standard kernel suse 9.1

I tried to install suse 9.1 today, but at the end of the installation it gives a window with a list of programs which had errors with installing. There was only one of them... the standard-kernel which sounds pretty bad to me

I have like 2 hd's, one (120gig, hda) with win2000 and a 40gig (hdc) for this linux installation. The bootloader is installed on the hda. But because of this nice error the bootloader only gives the option to start windows (or diskette). and when I make my bios boot from hdc it tells me that there is no OS found on that HD...

simplest solution: try to reinstall. also check your installation media for consistency as its possible there might be a disk error right where kernel package is on the CD so its unable to copy it.

I allready tried to install it twice with the same result

and the odd thing is that I get the same responce from slackware (no OS found).

I am going to try to unplug my win2000 hd I think... see if that does any good...

Sounds like a bad CD-Drive,... I've had the same thing happen before. Sounds like it is begining to go.
