Error inserting processor (lib/modules 2.6.26-2-686/kernaldrivers/acpi/processor
 

Upon startup I receive the following messages:
Unable to load system description tables
Error inserting processor (lib/modules 2.6.26-2-686/kerneldrivers/acpi/processor) no such device
Error inserting fan (lib/modules 2.6.26-2-686/kerneldrivers/acpi/fan) no such device
Error inserting thermal (lib/modules 2.6.26-2-686/kerneldrivers/acpi/thermal) unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter see (dmesg)

Today I was going to configure cpufreqd but in doing more research before actually implementing, realized that while it could be used on desktop it's mainly for laptops.

BTW desktop is Dell optiplex Gx1, with 500Mhz pentium III processor

1.Should the first thing I do, be enabling acpi or is it like cpufreqd and powernowd, where I have to setup user profiles?

2.Will this remove message that refers to no resume image?

3.Since most of the items show no such device that when cpufreqd was substuted for acpi and lm sensors?

Thank you all in advance for your help.
And please keep in mind that I'm still a newbie been at it for 3 months and still searching diligently for the answers.

The question that I'm really trying to ask is:
1 Does the kernel normally insert the right kernel modules during installation?
2 Is it just a matter of enabling acpi, and do I need to setup the[General],[Rule] and [profile] , as stated in powernowd
3 Is there already an active configuration of:
[General],[Rule] and [profile] to enable or do you have to create it?
4 Does enabling acpi take care of all the warnings that I listed in the previous post?

While I feel that I'm learning alot about linux,I keep running into roadblocks. I find alot of information
all of it useful but when I go to emplement and find another lead that tells me it's something else. I
really want to get this install done so I can do it all over again.

After reviewing all of my previous threads I'm marking the ones that are resolved along with an explanation. This one was resolved by enabling acpi in bios before booting. I believe that these messages were just a result of non-communication of hw post-installation. As a matter of fact during the installation process linux does pretty much load the required modules. Atleast linux image 2.6.26-2-686 does. Anyway have fun.
